The HSE reports 609 000 estimated non-fatal injuries to workers according to self reports from Labour Force Survey 2016/2017 of these 175 000 were injuries with over 7 days absence and 434 000 were injuries with up to 7 days absence.
The main accident kind was reported as Slip, trips and falls on the same level at 29%, followed by lifting and handling at 22%.
There are many things that can be done to help minimise the risk and we want to work with people to lower this figure over the coming years.
